The Details

I believe your photos should be authentic to you.

I wont ask you to do cheesy poses or anything that you are not comfortable with. The time we spend together is to highlight who you are and what you are all about in a genuine way. The true connections you have with each other, the laughter and the quiet moments. I will help guide you into natural poses but your session is a time to relax and have fun. Sometimes that includes some messy or chaotic and that is just fine! Often times those make the best images!

The Process

Lets Talk

We start with a phone consultation to go over your thoughts and vision then we coordinate our calendars and get you scheduled. Once you are booked in I start working on the plan for your unique session.

Location & Styling

There are lots of choices on this…whether you want a coastal look or a forest or a city scene, I can give you suggestions on all of that and more! Once we know where we are going its time to get everyone styled to fit with the location you have chosen. You can pull things you already have from your closets or I can offer suggestions on what else would look good on camera. You can text me photos to get my thoughts and suggestions on what will look good on-camera. I also offer a full styling service where we can send you a vision board complete with links on where to buy find everything on line.

Quality Time

This is your time to relax and enjoy yourself and your family. We will meet at our chosen location and our session will be all about playing and running around and having fun. We will get some of the ‘everybody look at the camera photos” and we will do a lot of ‘candid’ style photos. I will guide you into some poses that feel authentic to you. This will help give your gallery a variety of images to choose from.

Your Works of Art

2-3 weeks after your session you will be able to see your beautiful photos online and choose your favorites. They will then go through the process of hand “painting” to make them look their very best. This is also the time for you to order anything from wall prints to gorgeous coffee table album to gifts and digital files.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time of day is best for a session

The best time is always when there is good light. Early mornings are nice soft light and the last hour before sunset is known as Golden Hour when the light is more bold and dramatic. In between those times we can still do sessions its just a matter of what the light looks best with the location we have chosen.

I’m worried that my kids wont behave

This is an easy one for me, I have worked with kids my whole life (I was an elementary school teacher before being a full time photographer) and I love kids of all ages. I don’t ever expect them to sit still and look at the camera so don’t worry about that. I want kids to be kids and for them to run and play and have fun as I capture their natural smiles and expressions.

When will we receive our photos?

Your online gallery will be ready within 2-3 weeks. If you order prints those take another 2-3 weeks and albums take just a little bit longer than that. Digital galleries are ready within a week after you have chosen your favorites.
